What has changed?

Layout:
There are two new views. There’s a horizontal zoomable landscape view and a second vertical non graphical view.
Playmesh build an extra feature for the landscape – Four Finger Freddy.
He’ll award you with Extra Members or Weapons if you find him enough boxes hidden in between the streets.

Gameplay:
You now need to do every mission one after another in order to get more skill points. Every Level achieved gives you 1 bonus skill point. The catch is to do every mission. Why? To reach higher Levels (=more skill points).

Advertisment:
Playmesh wants you to download everything they produce, so you will be bored with weekly announcements. Ok, you’ll might be „awarded“ with Playmesh Points but not everytime. So far not so bad, but they’ll won’t disappear until you downloaded them – and pushed playmesh again to the Top 100 in iTunes. And that is really annoying!

I´ve been playing iMafia (an app for iPhone/iPod touch) produced by „Playmesh“ for some days now. After some hours of play I had so many questions about it. After looking through many forums, blogs and news, I have to say that there where many unsatisfying answers to questions. Since try&error is not my favorite way to learn, I may as well help you not doin the same mistakes.

So here it is  – the ultimate FAQ!

How to start?
Do the tutorial!

What to do with honor points given to you after the tutorial?
Keep them! Don´t waste them on some fast money making!
The money the Godfather offers you will raise at every levelup! You´ll need it later!

Which character to choose?
The differences between characters are:

• Brawler: 10% faster regeneration of health and stamia
  More the kind of character for all who like  to earn money by mugging others and having a bit of action.
• Mogul: 10% faster income/h
  For everyone who hasn’t the time or possiblity to get hands on his iPhone/Pod all day or who is missing WiFi most of the time. Cashflow is coming faster, so while you are not online you´ll still will benefit from the joy of buying a tank
• Workaholic: 10% faster regeneration of energy
  You’ll wondering what to do every now and then. Take this guy – he makes you take your iPhone out of your pocket any hour or so! Smile at it and earn fast money with jobs!

After all you´ll have to decide what kind of type you are.

How do I earn money?

• Real Estates:
  Buy Real Estates and you’ll be rewarded with tiny bits of money… well constantly, so at the end of the day it’s not so tiny anymore.
• Fight:
  Mug others. That will come with many surprises like no money or situations like „you-call-that-a-knife?“ For sure a not so sure income but fun and action.
• Bar:
  Jobs you might find hard to achive the specs. But hell, you´ll make more money than any other character in your Level! … if you don’t sleep much or have nothing to do all day long
• Bounty Kill:
  You have no life at all… then hammer your finger as often as you can on the screen as you’re in the police building. There you might have a chance to bounty kill some stranger and assure your income by sheer dumb luck.

Of course the best would be to do a lil bit of all, if you have the time to spare…

Who does the mafia size work?
Well, you´ll have to buy yourself mercenaries. And each new member will be more expensive! Friends are only friends and won’t enlarge your mobsize!
Pricesteps are 10000$ add to the last price – except first buy!
The formula for the pricesteps is for each new member(x) is:
if [x<16] = x^2*5000, then the formula changes. By then you shouldn’t care anymore about the price of the next memeber.

1. 5.000$
2. 20.000$
3. 45.000$
4. 80.000$
5. 125.000$
6. 180.000$

… and so on, I think you got the picture

What should I do with my Skill Points?
Well, depends on which character you choose and what you want to do most of the time in the game?
A good advice will be to put more points to your character strengths.

What should I buy?
Be aware that each gang member can only carry one weapon, one amour and drive one vehicle.
For Real Estate the rule would be not more than 3 buildings for each member.
Realize that buying more than one of a kind at once, you’ll pay the shown price! So you’ll save a lot of money! Otherwise the price will raise 10% for each added building!
Don´t buy stuff you don’t need! Concentrate on the next big heist!
Smuggling is always a very good hourly (+/- 1h) income

What to invest in?
Weapons & Amor or Real Estate?  You´ll have to do both!
Why?
Weapon & Amor will make you hard to fight and since you want to win…
Real Estate will put your bounty up (10x of your earnings) and therefore makes it harder to others to put you on the bounty list, plus there will be a cashflow to finance your upkeeps.

What happens if I reset? What when I die?
update: Reset is no longer avaiable.
Well, Reset is pretty selfexplaining, don’t you think? But why doing it?
One reason would be you chose the wrong character. Or you just hit the wrong buttons (or you’re girlfriend did, ’cause you forgot her birthday, in which case she hit the right ones)
When you die your health is at 0 points. Then you’ll will see in your stats that you died. That’s it. It’s not a reset! So don’t worry to much about that.

Anything else that I should know?

Yes, you just might not stupidly push buttons. Why? Sometimes buttons show more than one option! e.g. The „Fight“-Button: If you just a bit short on cash to buy yourself the third mercedes or the fifth member – you get the superb idea to fight for the last few bugs. But be careful while you have your next investment in your pocket. Hooray, suddenly a button seperated in two options – one said: Perhaps I have some money for you… (I mean the classical „Fight“-Button) the other said: I’ve got yours now!! (In which case you’ll see „Put on the Hitlist + Bounty“) Could make you very sad or angry… unless you wanted him on the bounty list.

If you don’t play the game – why are you readin this FAQ? Moron!
…and fyi: It´s the freakin’ best game in it’s genre so far!
